Tanzania is significantly expanding its compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure to reduce fuel costs and environmental impact, with plans for numerous new stations and the introduction of CNG-powered public transportation. The country has abundant natural gas reserves, and drivers are encouraged to convert their vehicles to use the cleaner, cheaper fuel. The government, through the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), is facilitating this growth by allowing companies to build more stations and importing mobile units to reach more users.
